About THE REGIMENT OF THE BLACK AND TANS

The Regiment Of The Black And Tans is a uniform club founded in 1974 in Los Angeles by Gary Alexander, Ken Balder, Armin Hoffman, Gary Howell and Joseph Sager.  The club is made up of uniform aficionados who enjoy the collecting of and wearing of uniforms, although many of the members are also leathermen.  The club’s name is derived from its uniform of black pants and tan shirt.

As an exclusive club (never more than 18 members  as per its  bylaws), it would host an annual covert operation play party at a secret location, called Maneuvers.  Attendees who passed a uniform inspection at a designated location would be given directions to a private location for the party.
